While we did *officially* start school August 1st, we've kept the days slow and have been focusing on trying to just get back to routine. I've been working a lot the last few days on some introductory History research packs, hopefully to give a small bit on direction to start with, and encourage some personal research. Anyway, no great pictures from last week's school week - we did do school, just had little time for pictures, and I haven't loaded them yet. So...... I'll share someone else's with you!

Using a llama as a subject, these books give you a different point of view - one of not the adult, but the child. In this particular Llama Llama book, it is a dreaded time of day - bed time! I don't know about you, but I can completely relate with some of my children. Llama Llama goes to bed, but there is a problem - little llama just can't settle down.     Full of bed time woes, the next couple of pictures show the climax of the distress this little llama is going through. To Succeed One Must Never Give Up

Even if that means, the best you can is to blog a few times a year, and always tell yourself you'll pick it back up full time....eventually. Richard Bach said: "A professional writer is an amateur who didn't quit" My friends, I claim that for my outSTANDing blogging skills ;) (as I type this, I realize I'm searching for the emoji buttons that surely should be somewhere by now hahaha!) We didn't quit. I mean, I obviously haven't been around this blog in what feels like eons. We are still here, though, alive and kicking!  KLW is going in to the 10th grade this year. When did someone come in my house and allow that to happen? Tot School - Week 1 - Red Week

* Linking up to Tot School Gathering! * In all the years that we have homeschooled, I have never 'tot schooled' - until now! If you are reading this, this is my first EVER tot school post, but hopefully only the first of MANY :) Buddy Boy is 31 months (2 1/2 yrs) old I managed to get Buddy Boy to be still for some first day of school pictures. In the second picture, he is 'showing me how old he is'! As of this point, Buddy Boy knows many of his letter sounds, and names, thanks to Leap Frog Letters videos ( this one in particular ), due to the fact that he watched the video almost DAILY last year. He does not have shapes or numbers mastered, although he can count verbally, he does not associate numbers with amounts. He does not have a good recognition of color names, although he can sometimes match up the colors without the vocabulary. With that in mind, that's where we started.
